When Yeshua (Jesus) asked me to come out of paganism, I had no idea just how much I had to give up. And right when I thought I had my spiritual life in order, He showed me something else that needed to go. There was still paganism in my life that I was trying to use to honor and worship Him. Scripture teaches that we are not to pollute YHVH's holy name thru the observance of paganism. Yeshua showed me that the same devils behind the pagan holidays are the same devils behind pagan calendars. The Gregorian calendar, which is a papal calendar, was satanically inspired to honor and worship the pagan gods and goddesses of Christ's Mass (Saturnalia), Easter, Halloween, Valentine's Day, etc. Just as the Creator's calendar was designed in honor and worship of Him, the pagan calendars, such as the Gregorian and the Julian calendars, were made by man to honor and worship satan. Just as YHVH has His set apart rest and worship days, satan has his set apart (from Torah) rest and worship days.
The Torah calendar described in Genesis 1:14 is a luni-solar calendar with the moon determining YHVH's holy days. In Genesis 1:14 (kjv) the word "seasons" in Hebrew is mo'edim.
Mo'edim - festivals, appointments, signs, signals.
In Psalm 104:19 it says that God appointed the moon for seasons (mo'edim), which means His holy days are determined by the phases of the moon. I have heard by those who oppose the lunar Sabbath say that God's annual feasts are lunar but His weekly Sabbath is not. They also believe the Creator has two calendars; one for the Sabbath and one for everything else. There are not two calendars in the Torah. YHVH has only one time measuring system; the luni-solar calendar with the moon determining all of His holy days.
The biblical 7th day Sabbath cannot be found using a pagan calendar. God's Sabbath day can only be found using His calendar.
"The present Jewish calendar was fixed in the fourth century." -Louis Finkelstein
"The New Moon is still, and the Sabbath originally was, dependent upon the lunar cycle." -"Holidays", Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, p. 410
"Declaring the new month by observation of the new moon, and the new year by the arrival of spring, can only be done by the Sanhedrin. In the time of Hillel II [4th century A.D.], .... the Romans prohibited this practice. Hillel II was therefore forced to institute his fixed calendar." -The Jewish Calendar, Changing the Calendar.
"Originally, the New Moon was celebrated in the same way as the Sabbath; gradually it became less important while the Sabbath became more and more a day of religion and humanity, of religious meditation and instructions..." -"Holidays", Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, p. 410
